The Universe is my God!
Consider the source?

There are many versions of this theory, ranging from full blown pantheistic to the universe being kind of a cosmic vending machine. Wherever you stand on this scale, realize that you may be missing out. We know scientifically now that the universe didn't always exist, which (at the very least), points to a force that set everything in motion. What is this uncaused cause? If there is a motive force behind all this, shouldn't we aspire to understand it? What is our real purpose here, just to be happy?

While some regard the universe as a mystical god or god force, some people look at it more like a catalogue that you can order from. You can manifest your heart's desires, whether by the 'Law of Attraction', the 'Power of Positive Thinking', by Wiccan practices or just flat out black magick. Don't laugh, the people practicing these principles aren't. They know that these things work.

However, a person should be asking themselves why they work and looking beyond the glib explanations given by the proponents of these practices. You also need to carefully consider what you are trading in, is it actually a Faustian bargain? Material happiness now in exchange for missing out on a relationship with the Creator?
There's no evidence for a creatorlaw of attraction is not wicca!

What if you loved someone very much and you wanted to demonstrate that love. What if you baked a beautiful cake for them every week. You stand at their door with the cake and knock, but they don't answer. You love them, so you leave the cake by the door. Each week, they find the cake outside. They love the cake, but they have no interest in finding out where it came from. Wouldn't they be missing out by not knowing the baker? Yes, they have all the beautiful and delicious cake they need. They can admire it, be in awe of the intricate design details in the frosting, marvel at the taste... but they are missing out on a loving relationship with you, the baker.

Is revering the universe really just idol worship on a grand scale? Our most meaningful relationships are personal, most of us don't deeply connect with rocks (or cakes). If 'as above, so below', wouldn't it make sense that our most transcendent relationship would also be a personal one? Why model connections down here with persons, if the ultimate relationship is with a non-personal entity?

A relationship with the Creator of the universe will not necessarily involve a vow of poverty, nor will it automatically guarantee material wealth. Yes, it will take care of your needs in the here and now. Much more importantly, it will also bring you joy in this life and it will open the door to continuing that relationship in the next.

He gave us the curiosity to want to know who the Baker is. Maybe we should use it?
